Toju is a freelance designer, editorial illustrator, and visual consultant based in Washington, DC.
Their all about synthesizing ideas to create images that tell a story. They were the first senior news graphics designer at Vox, collaborating with journalists across the newsroom to produce graphics and illustrations for breaking news and long-form projects. They’ve taught visual storytelling and news production at Georgetown University.
Past gigs include Politico, Investigative Reporting Workshop and PBS Frontline. They have contributed to stories for the Center of Public Integrity, Racked, The Washington Post, Recode, O Magazine, The Center of Investigative Reporting, PBS Frontline, and The Marshall Project.
