Video Profile: The Bowlegged Gorilla
When Kenny Johnston, 28, isn't clearing away trees for his uncle's construction company, he can be seen using his hands, feet, and vocal percussion performing as the Bowlegged Gorilla. The Baltimore native draws inspiration from traditional American rhythm and blue styles through Hip Hop and dance music to create his own multi-layered sound. This video was widely distributed to promote the conference that was held February 18th, 2012 at University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
