The annual tradition known as Sunshine Week is not about the change in season. The seven-day effort serves as a reminder for the need of open government and a free flow information from our highest institutions. In the Nation's Capitol, local advocates are focusing on Washington's Metrorail, pushing the transportation agency for answers in light of this years fatal L'Enfant Plaza train incident.
When Kenny Johnston, 28, isn’t clearing away trees for his uncle’s construction company, he can be seen using his hands, feet, and vocal percussion performing as the Bowlegged Gorilla. The Baltimore native draws inspiration from traditional American rhythm and blue styles through Hip Hop and dance music to create his own multi-layered sound. For this Gorilla, each song is a meditation for the listener.
